The Arts for Social Change Acting Camp at CAV is an intensive actor's workshop designed for youth ages 13-18 to develop acting technique and leadership skills in talented youth.
Over the course of each four week session young actors will explore a variety of acting methods and learn skills in public speaking and group facilitation. They will learn Meisner, Method, and Classical/Shakespearean acting techniques as well as engage in scene study, improvisation, and learn key film terms and practices.
Upon completion of the camp, participants will not only have a performance but be equipped with the tools necessary to effectively use their art to address issues of social relevance with their peers in a performance troupe setting. This camp is a process oriented experience focused on the discipline of acting and we do welcome participants of all skill levels. Tuition is $600 for each session.
Writing for Stage and Screen is a writers workshop for youth ages 13-18 designed to introduce the basic elements of story, character and dialogue while exploring the similarities and differences of writing for stage and screen. Tuition is $150 for this one week class.
